FAQ

Does laser hair removal last permanently?

While laser hair removal doesn’t get rid of hair forever it does drastically reduce hair growth to the point that you can stop shaving altogether. Hair Growth is triggered by hormonal changes, thus can influence results & the laser hair removal process.

Does it hurt when getting laser treatment?

The laser hair removal system we use is Pain-Free and does not cause any pain or discomfort. All you will feel is a warming sensation as the laser moves across your skin.

Will laser hair removal damage my skin?

No, the Alma “Harmony Lite” laser we use causes no damage to your skin. The pulses of light energy used in laser hair removal treatments are only designed to heat and destroy hair follicles.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime associated with this treatment, so you can return to work & daily activities straight after your laser hair removal sessions. You may notice some redness in the treatment area, but this will soon subside.

How many treatments will I need?

We recommend a course of 6 to 12 sessions for optimal results from your laser hair removal treatment.

Why do I need so may sessions?

Hair grows in three different phases (Anagen, Catagen and Telogen). We can only successfully target the hair when it is in the Anagen phase. Since we cannot see below the skin which phase the hair is in and each follicle is in a different phase, it takes time and multiple treatments to make sure that we have targeted all the remaining hairs when they have reached the Anagen Phase.

How long does it take for the hair to fall out?

It takes approximately 7 to 14 days for the hair to fall out.

Do I need to shave before I get treated?

Yes, please make sure to shave the night before a treatment.

Can I still wax during my laser course?

NO! Please do not wax or pluck in between your sessions as these forms of hair removal stimulates the blood flow in the follicle and can cause the hair to regrow and affect the growing phase that we are trying to target. There also needs to be a hair present in the follicle for laser hair removal to work.
